Does this buck actually look real? You dissect this buck, and there's something about that makes it appear almost mystical. When Chad brought this buck in from this hunt, we all just marveled at it's massiveness. Paul's buck has such huge bases and the mass all the way out to the tips is truly phenomenal. This buck doesn't have the huge webbing mass like yesterday's entry, but his thickness all the way out is unheard of. If this buck had big eyeguards he would have been closer to 260. This buck had been seen the hunt earlier by Dad and by Chad, but Paul closed the deal on this monster. Paul began hunting with us in 2005 with his good friend Peter Bollinger. He didn't miss a year until he shot this toad. Yes, he became a fixture on the Island and we always looked forward to having in camp-- he was such a pleasure to chat with and share a story. This buck also had the finest velvet I've ever seen. We put this buck in the freezer, and there was no room for anything else. What a crazy-big buck!
